Photography: Photo Retouching

Here's a basic example of light skin retouching and color correction (however, I opted for a more "warm" tone, because it is more appeasing to the eye). There's still plenty of hair that needs to be cloned out. I will post more advance examples of retouching at a later time (when I find it, I'm looking for it now).

After Effects Animation

This is a mock intro for the British t.v. show "Inside the Medieval Mind". Various music and graphics were provided and, as usual, we were left to ourselves to develop something creative. The main focus of this piece however is to demonstrate the use of two things: the 3D camera and lighting.

For those of you wondering how the work flow of this piece was, I used four compositions. The first comp consists of the entire timeline. This timeline was then broken down into three scenes that contained all the animations. Essentially it's the same way that you would edit a film, only its you that has to construct the scene and direct the actors.
This project was completed under a deadline and had to be a specific length.
Things I would do different if I did this project again:
  • I would find/create proper ground textures instead of using a ramp. This way nothing looks like it's floating. The ramp does do a decent job of filing space however.
  • Make the camera animation smoother in the final shot.
  • My original intention was to have more sprites on the roofs being animated. However, due to the lack of time, this was not possible.

Editing and After Effects

Here's a mock opening for a fictitious T.V. show "The System". The premise of the show revolves around a lawyer and medical examiner crime fighting duo. For this project I was given various shots to analyze. From there, I sketched a storyboard and submitted it for approval.

I had never composed an opening for a crime fighting drama, so to acquire some inspiration, I went to youtube and spent hours watching the intros for shows like "Law and Order", "JAG", and "CSI".
All motion graphics and editing completed by me.
